The black cat

(Japanese: “Kuro Neko”)

The Maneki-Neko, the beckoning lucky cat that catches your eye at the entrance to every Asian restaurant, is believed to bring good luck and prosperity. The myths, legends and fairy tales about cats as lucky charms (as well as demons) go back many centuries in Japan and exist in countless variations.

Our restaurant is named after an abandoned black cat that we took in, but the name also stands for the typically surprising, curious and unpredictable nature that all cats have and that we always try to find in our culinary ideas. In addition, we hope that the black cat brings us and our guests lots of luck and joy, according to the tradition of Japanese legends.

Philosophy of the kitchen

Our cuisine is influenced by the traditions of our homeland, the aromas of Asia and the philosophy of Japanese cuisine. The foundation is therefore rooted in regional and seasonal products, supplemented by high-quality ingredients from the Far East. The rich, sumptuous local cuisine is combined with the opulent variety of Asian flavors and the elegance and lightness of the Japanese world to create a completely new form of culinary art.
